Music Opportunities for Adults

Carillon Choir

Carillon Choir is a choir for hand-bell ringers. Those who have a love for this type of music are invited to come and experience the technique and joy of ringing. The choir plays monthly during the 11:00 a.m. worship service. Rehearsals are the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month, September through May, 5:15-6:30 p.m.

Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir leads worship by encouraging the congregation in song, responses, hymns, and anthems. It is a choral group for adults which sings in the 11:00 a.m. Sunday worship services. Preparing the anthem is only a part of the task of the choir. The choir also prepares choral works of the master composers, such as Bach, Haydn, Mozart, and Handel as well as the literature of classic church music composers, to be presented during worship in Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Easter. The repertoire of the choir includes responses/chants from the Taize Community, the Iona Community, John Bell, and other global sources. Anthem selection supports the liturgical worship service by extending the lectionary passages and sermon/seasonal themes.

Chancel Choir welcomes new members!

Rehearsals are the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month, September through May, 7:00-8:30 p.m., and every Sunday at 9:40 a.m.

Instrumental Music

Several times a year, instrumentalists are needed to accompany the Chancel Choir or to participate in special services. Hope Church values the talents of our members and we encourage musicians to use their skills in worship. Anyone wishing to participate should make his or her talents known to Brian Carder, Director of Music.
